Next Release: Craving Flight
And now for something completely different!
I took a brief hiatus from working on the Compass Series to participate in the Goodreads BDSM group’s Bring Out Your Kink writing event and I’m so glad I did. During the event, members of the group submitted prompts which included a photo and a brief letter, and then writers in the group picked the prompt that spoke to them the most. It was a unique challenge to work off of someone else’s story idea but I had a lot of fun. I even got to exercise the perpetual student in me by geeking out on some research.

Tzipporah Berger is thirty-seven and single, which is practically unheard of in the Orthodox Jewish community she now calls home. Her increasing religiosity and need for kink may have broken up her first marriage, but she’s decided it’s time to try again. And the rabbi’s wife has just the man in mind.
Elan Klein is the neighborhood butcher whose intimidating size and gruff manner hint at a deliciously forceful personality. But BDSM isn’t exactly something you discuss during an Orthodox courtship. Will a marriage to Elan solidify her place in the community that she loves and provide the domination and pain Tzipporah craves or will she forever have to rely on flights of fancy to satisfy her needs?
I don’t have pre-order links for Craving Flight, partly because it’s going to be FREE. That’s right, FREE. Members of the Goodreads BDSM Group will get EXCLUSIVE access to the story on September 7th (you can join now if you haven’t already!) and the story will be posted here. It will be released on vendors (Amazon, kobo, B&N, etc) on September 21st. Any money I make before I can get all vendors to price match will be donated to The Network/la Red* which is a is a survivor-led, social justice organization that works to end partner abuse in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, BDSM, polyamorous, and queer communities.

I loved the Compass series and I’m extremely excited about Craving Flight. I cannot think of another author who has set a BDSM themed romance in an Orthodox Jewish Community. It’s a bold move and if any author can pull it off, it will be you.
I was raised in an Orthodox Jewish family and although I’m not religious now, I’m fascinated by fiction which reflects this culture.
Erotic romance is possibly less diverse than mainstream romantic fiction and although there are Jewish writers writing erotica, their main characters seldom reflect this.
So hats off to you for trying something different.

Thank you! I’m half-thrilled and half-terrified for this novella to come out. The original prompt was wonderful and I hope I managed to do it justice. It was important to me to be respectful of the community and their (widely varying!) beliefs. I really enjoyed doing the research, and was incredibly lucky to have a friend in the community offer her time and opinions, which was invaluable. It was definitely a challenge, but hopefully my readers will enjoy it! Thanks again for commenting : )
